THE COMPANY
This is a global leader in payments and technology — one of the most recognized and consequential companies at the intersection of financial services, digital commerce, and enterprise technology. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Vice President, M&A / Corporate Development will join the Strategy & Corporate Development team and report directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. This is a senior individual contributor and leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of inorganic growth — from opportunity identification and market engagement through deal structuring, business case development, and Board-level presentation.
The right candidate is a big-picture strategic thinker who can connect macro industry dynamics to specific deal opportunities, partner credibly with senior business executives, and move with the analytical rigor and executive presence required to operate at the highest levels of a global organization.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Strategic Deal Origination & Execution
- Lead high-priority strategic projects from end to end — framing and structuring complex issues, conducting rigorous analysis, and distilling insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Generate new inorganic growth ideas grounded in market dynamics, competitive context, and the company’s strategic priorities across payments, technology, and financial services
- Develop Target Investment Profiles (TIPs) in partnership with senior leadership to identify and prioritize the most compelling M&A and equity investment candidates
- Prepare pre-LOI business cases including go-to-market plans, synergy analysis, standalone business valuation, and early-stage integration planning
Business Partnership & Strategy Alignment
- Partner closely with global business unit leaders, regional product executives, and sales leadership to understand their growth strategies and identify where M&A or equity investments can accelerate or complement those objectives
- Generate Investment Rationales — evaluating which growth strategies are better executed through strategic investments, acquisitions, or joint ventures versus organic development
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior business executives across geographies and functions
Market Engagement & Ecosystem Development
- Develop and maintain active, ongoing engagement with relevant market participants across regions — including PE and VC investors, investment banks, and other strategic sources — to ensure full market visibility and proprietary deal flow
- Track and synthesize competitive trends, partnership opportunities, and market and industry insights across the payments and technology ecosystem
- Identify lateral opportunities across geographies and industries that align with the company’s long-term strategic objectives
Executive Communication & Governance
- Lead the creation of acquisition deliverables and M&A materials — including presentations to senior executives, the Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors
- Communicate complex financial and strategic concepts clearly and compellingly to non-technical and executive audiences
- Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with precision, quality, and speed

- Prior corporate development experience at a global technology or financial services company a significant differentiator
