THE COMPANY

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Director or Senior Director, Corporate Strategy & New Product Planning, you will serve as a key contributor to the team responsible for portfolio strategy, commercial assessment, and investment evaluation across the company’s oncology pipeline.

This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable interrogating a clinical development strategy and building a financial model — and who brings the same intellectual rigor to both. You will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and the Investment Committee to ensure programs are developed with commercial clarity and portfolio decisions are grounded in data and competitive insight.

This is a full-time, in-person role.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Portfolio Strategy & New Product Planning

  • Evaluate therapeutic programs across all dimensions — from preclinical rationale and clinical development strategy through competitive positioning and commercial opportunity
  • Build and maintain opportunity assessments, NPV models, and scenario analyses that support investment and portfolio prioritization decisions
  • Assess evolving treatment paradigms, standard of care shifts, competitive readouts, and emerging technologies relevant to the pipeline
  • Track and synthesize external data — clinical trial results, regulatory decisions, and competitive pipeline movements — into clear strategic implications
  • Support portfolio review processes and help prepare Investment Committee materials

Investment Evaluation & Business Development Support

  • Research and evaluate potential investment opportunities and therapeutic areas aligned with the company’s precision medicine mission
  • Build scientific and business cases for new programs — synthesizing complex data into concise, compelling recommendations
  • Collaborate with Business Development on diligence assessments, external opportunity evaluations, and strategic partnership discussions
  • Interface with academics, patient advocacy groups, biotechs, and entrepreneurs across the oncology landscape

Cross-Functional Contribution & Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner across functions — contributing to the alignment of development strategy with commercial opportunity and corporate objectives
  • Coordinate with internal subject-matter experts including clinical, regulatory, and commercial colleagues to drive rigorous program-level analysis
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and data-driven working culture aligned with the organization’s mission and values

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education

  • Advanced degree required — MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent

Experience

  • 7–12 years of relevant experience in biotech, biopharma, consulting, investment banking, or pharmaceutical strategy
  • Demonstrated success in corporate strategy, new product planning, portfolio strategy, commercial assessment, and/or business development
  • Strong understanding of oncology clinical development, commercialization, and competitive dynamics
  • Experience in antibody therapeutics, ADCs, immuno-oncology, or targeted therapies strongly preferred
  • Previous experience at one of the following strongly valued:
    • Top-tier management consulting in life sciences (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or equivalent)
    • Venture capital or investment banking with an oncology or life sciences focus
    • Corporate strategy, new product planning, or BD at a biopharma or oncology biotech
    • Post-doctoral research with meaningful exposure to the business of biotech

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen — able to build and interpret opportunity assessments, NPV models, and scenario analyses independently
  • Scientific literacy — comfortable evaluating programs from target biology through clinical design and engaging credibly with scientific stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills — translates complex scientific and commercial information into clear, decision-ready strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to contribute to and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining clear line of sight to broader corporate objectives

THE RIGHT PERSON

Strategic Thinker — Strong business judgment and genuine intellectual curiosity. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities without losing analytical rigor.
