VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY
Leading Financial Services / FinTech Company · New York ·
THE COMPANY
This is a market-defining financial technology and services company at the forefront of the wealth management and alternative investments ecosystem. The organization has built a category-leading platform that is reshaping how wealth managers, financial advisors, and their clients access and manage alternative investments at scale. The company is well-capitalized, high-growth, and operating at an exciting inflection point — with a Corporate Development & Strategy function that plays a central role in shaping its long-term trajectory.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy will join a high-performing team working directly with Senior Leadership to drive the company’s most critical strategic and inorganic growth initiatives across the wealth and alternatives ecosystem.
This is a seat at the table — not a support role. The right individual will lead the evaluation, planning, and execution of both organic and inorganic strategic opportunities — including partnerships, minority investments, and selective acquisitions — while serving as a trusted strategic resource across the organization. You will help drive cross-functional alignment, accountability, and momentum to ensure successful execution of the company’s highest-priority initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Strategic Analysis & Deal Origination
- Conduct in-depth strategic research, synthesize complex findings, and present actionable recommendations on new business opportunities directly to Senior Leadership
- Lead rigorous, data-driven analysis — quantitative and qualitative — to inform and shape Corporate Development & Strategy recommendations
- Identify, evaluate, and proactively surface strategic opportunities including partnerships, minority investments, and selective acquisitions aligned with long-term objectives
- Serve as the organization’s trusted resource for external market intelligence — competitive dynamics, industry trends, and emerging partnership or acquisition opportunities across the ecosystem
Transaction Execution & Due Diligence
- Run point on key aspects of the due diligence process for select strategic transactions — managing multiple workstreams simultaneously to ensure thorough analysis and informed decision-making
- Work closely with external counterparties — investment banks, legal teams, and advisors — and internal stakeholders to advance strategic opportunities from initial evaluation through execution
- Prepare executive-level presentations, business plans, financial analyses, and industry reports that communicate complex findings with clarity and conviction
- Demonstrate command of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and transaction structuring across a range of deal types
Cross-Functional Strategic Leadership
- Partner with internal stakeholders across functions to support development and drive execution of strategic initiatives — ensuring alignment, accountability, and measurable outcomes
- Curate and distribute relevant industry insights, enabling teams across the organization to make data-driven decisions
- Lead special projects commissioned by senior leadership in support of broader strategic objectives
- Thoughtfully incorporate AI and automation tools into day-to-day workflows to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of strategic analysis, diligence, and execution
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 8+ years in corporate development or strategy, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or a comparable strategic role
- Financial technology or financial services background strongly preferred — the company operates at the intersection of wealth management, alternatives, and technology
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and supporting M&A transactions, partnerships, and strategic negotiations from origination through close
- Experience with alternative funds — including familiarity with fund structures, operations, and valuation methodologies — a meaningful differentiator
- Prior experience in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment where ownership and results are expected
Competencies
- Strategic thinking — synthesizes market intelligence and competitive dynamics into compelling investment theses and actionable strategic recommendations
- Financial acumen — strong command of financial modeling, KPIs, valuation, and their role in strategic decision-making

- Ownership mindset — highly self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Cross-functional collaboration — organized, team-oriented, and experienced managing multiple complex projects across internal and external stakeholders
- Intellectual agility — quick learner with the ability to adapt to new industries, business models, and shifting strategic priorities
