Responsibility for leading all research resources and teams (both internal and external).
Work as a key member of the executive team to define the scope of research, thecompany strategy, and therapeutic focus area.
Hire and manage a scientific and translational sciences staff.
Establish and effectively manage collaboration(s) with current and new externalscientific resources.
Work closely with the CEO and the co-founder who generated the underlying IP during partnering and investor meetings.
Work closely with IP counsel to ensure the rapid preparation and submission of newpatents and ongoing patents.
Set the scientific direction of the company.
Manage the transition from a technology focused to a therapeutic focused company.
Identify, engage, and manage KOLs to help define therapeutic opportunities
Work with the SAB to utilize their expertise to advance the company’s research.Requirements

PhD in the life sciences with at least 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience in therapeutic development.
A deep understanding of the challenges involved in moving from a concept to a clinical stage therapeutic candidate.
Experience in novel therapeutics.
Significant experience in the filing of INDs

Education and ExperiencePhD with accomplished leadership and industry experience, including relevant research and/or translational sciences accomplishments.
