We are partnered with an established global investment and asset management firm as they actively seek a highly skilled and hands-on Hedge Fund Senior Accountant to join the growing, US-based team! The ideal Senior Accountant must have extensive experience in financial reporting (GAAP, IFRS, SEC, etc.) and be comfortable supporting the fund accounting responsibilities as requested. This Senior Accountant will be working on Quant Funds and must have a demonstrated background in algorithmic or systematically programmed investment strategies, and highly technical experience in mathematics and programing.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and other deliverables
- Analyze and interpret large datasets, performance metrics, and trading strategies
- Coordinate with public accounting firm auditors and prepare audited financial statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other financial information for hedge fund clients in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements
- Management and performance fee calculations
- Support the Fund Controller in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Big 4 and / or hedge fund accounting with a focus on financial reporting
- Experience with GAAP/IFRS, SEC reporting requirements, and hedge fund structures
- Experience working with complex financial products
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced trading environment
